California settles with Kmart, sues Target - Los Angeles Business from bizjournals:

The state’s attorney general, Jerry joined by district attorneys from many California including Alameda, Santa Clara and Contra Costa, filed a suit againstr Minneapolis-based Target (NYSE: TGT), saying it sent hazardoues waste to various landfills in violation of stated law. The suit is meant to stop the practices. In news Target said it has been cooperating withthe AG’as office for three years on this matter and that it is committer to complying with all environmental Kmart, owned by (NASDAQ: SHLD), agreed to a settlement that includezs civil penalties, legal costs and some money to boosyt protection of the environment in the Thomas Orloff, Robert Kochly, James Fox and Dolores the DAs of Alameda, Contra San Mateo and Santa Clara counties respectively, joinefd Brown in the suit against Target.
Accordingg to court papers, Target has 180 facilities, including stores and in California. The suit allegess Target threwout “ignitablr aerosol wastes” including propane canisters, in a trash compactotr in Alameda County on May 14 and May 21, for
