The most recent report show thatthe evolution, indeed, has taken Boston struggles to maintain its college gradzs as they move into the workforce, and the Rouned Table report underscores that philanthropty is a factor making some locak companies more attractive to younger The Roundtable issued the report in collaboratiob with the University of Massachusetts Boston Emerging Leaderse Program.
A team from the Emergin Leaders Program started workinvg on the reportlast summer, interviewing 20 Massachusettsa companies about their corporate social responsibility activitied -- predominantly large companes and representing a cross-section of “Historically CEOs would engage in philanthropyh because it was the right thing to do. They wanter to be good corporate citizens,” said J.D. Chesloff, deputy directofr of the MassachusettsBusiness Roundtable. “Noa there’s a good businese case to incorporating it into theitrbusiness plan. There’s a bottom line impact to it, in additionj to being good for all the othercommunity reasons.
” Based on the findingsx from the 20 companies includedc in the research, the report suggests five ways companie can build a culture of social responsibility: • Creatd a clear link to the company’sw mission and secure endorsement at the executive level. Engage employees at all levelsas decision-makerws in relation to corporate social responsibility targete and activities. • Leverage employees’ skills to make positivr contributions tothe community. • Providwe opportunities for employees to develolpnew skills.
