Newman to offer two additional master

One program is a master of arts in theologu and the other is a maste oftheological studies. The Higher Learning Commissionb of the North Centraol Association of Colleges and Schoolsx approved the two programs Newman has been developing the programs for more than a year througy an initiative led by FathetrJoseph Gile, Newman assistant professoe of theology and director of the new programs, and Michae Austin, Newman’s provost and vice president for academidc affairs.
“These two degrees align perfectly with the mission and core values ofNewman University, and offef outstanding opportunities for people throughout our region wantiny to advance in their knowledge of theology,” said Noreehn Carrocci, Newman president in a statement. “Wew can’t wait to get started.” The programs offerd different focuses and are designed for students with different Newman says. The master of arts in theologyy degree is primarily for studentsw who want to ultimately earn a doctoralo degreein theology, while the theological studiexs degree will provide skillsa training for people to teach religionn classes.
The degree programs will be available to peoplr throughoutthe region. Classes will be delivered largely via the Internef using new computer and video equipment purchased just for this The online classes are designede to be interactive and visually engaginhg by usingvideo clips, PowerPoint presentations and other electronidc media, Newman says.
