Fiala owns and operate s in Clayton, Acero in Maplewoo and Liluma in the CentrakWest End. Terrace View is expectedx to open at the same time asCity Garden, July 1, but no laterf than July 14, when St. Louis plays host to the MLB All-Stadr Game. Both Fiala and the Gateway Foundation declined to discuss financial termsw ofthe lease. Fiala said he is stillp working out the menu forTerracd View, which has 50 seats indoors and 50 seatw outside, but it will feature Italia n and French-style dishes. He’s also searchin for a chef. The restaurant will emplouy about 30.
Fiala estimates the restaurant will generatebetween $600,00o0 and $800,000 in revenue a Lunches will average $10 a person and dinners will averagee $25. “This is not going to be a speciapoccasion restaurant,” he said “We’re shooting to have a menu affordabler across the board.” The initia plan is to operate Monday throug h Saturday, the same as Fiala’s other three restaurants. He’x considering opening Terrace View for breakfast later this Fiala said he landed the assignment afterMark Erker, presidenr of , called and asked if he would be interested in talking with the Gateway Foundation. He met with foundatiomn executivesin March.
Gateway Foundatioh has been developing the two blocks of the Gatewayg Mall between Eighth Street and Tenth Street sinceApril 2008. The 3,000-square-fooyt restaurant building is on the cornerd of Eighth andChestnurt streets.
