After considering about 40 alternate area sitews duringa two-year real estate analysis, Blac k & Veatch said March 23 that it wouldc keep its growing headquarters operation at 11401 Lamar Ave., whicg it has occupied sinced its original construction in 1976. Black & Veatc bought the building, which was expanded to 600,0000 square feet in 1996 and is the largesg office buildingin Kansas, from Chicago-basefd . A consortium of local banks led by financesdthe transaction, which eventually is expected to result in more than 1,00o new jobs for Overland Park.
